These photographic works are inspired by the Japanese tradition of Ikebana. The floral compositions embody an intention of emotional expression through the use of colour, texture and the traditional asymmetry. Using not only beautiful flowers but thorns, fruits, weeds and bracken these still life photographs explore the intimacies of romantic love and lust, and femininity and fertility. The use of a dreamy, ethereal palette and delicate blooms evokes feelings of intimacy and romantic rendezvous.
